Myers Park Kitchen with Arched Pass-Thru

Project Overview

We had the opportunity to work with homeowners who envisioned a modernized kitchen. Their project involved a full remodel with a new, functional pass-through from the kitchen to the living room. Central to their vision was the use of shaker-style navy blue cabinetry, a feature they wanted all throughout their kitchen. Our role as local kitchen contractors was to bring this vision to life. We remodeled the kitchen, integrating the desired cabinetry along with quartz countertops, backsplash tile, and leveling the new flooring. Our focus was on meeting the homeowners' needs, ensuring every detail reflected their personal style and the high standards of Charlotte homes.

Challenges & Solutions

Challenge:

The homeowner’s home had an uneven step down between the kitchen and the living room floor.

Solution:

Our team of contractors solved the uneven floor in the living room by installing an additional joist and meticulously pinning down each existing joist to achieve a level surface. Subsequently, we laid down a subfloor to ensure uniform height throughout the area.

Challenge:

It was a challenge creating a perfectly match to the curved existing entrance angle from the living room to the kitchen to the new pass through.

Solution:

Our construction team replicated the original arch by tracing its outline on a sheet of plywood. After cutting the plywood to match the contour of the arch, we constructed a frame on either side of it to align with the wall's thickness. This assembly was then securely affixed to the existing frame and opening. Achieving a precise match to the arch's curve required multiple meticulous cuttings of the plywood.
